A moogle from a distant land gifted with unique talents as a mage. Ygni studied black magic in great earnest and eventually set off on a journey to quell an insatiable yearning for more knowledge. As the journey drew to a close, Ygni discovered a method to control living beings. Now accompanied by a terrifying monster under said control, many mistake the moogle for an evil mage when in reality Ygni's only dark desire is to be buried in research night and day.

Background Story

NV A moogle from a distant land gifted with unique talents as a mage. Ygni studied black magic in great earnest and eventually set off on a journey to quell an insatiable yearning for more knowledge. As the journey drew to a close, Ygni discovered a method to control living beings. Now accompanied by a terrifying monster under said control, many mistake the moogle for an evil mage when in reality Ygni's only dark desire is to be buried in research night and day.

Notes

Gameplay

  • Players can test out its abilities as a Guest Unit through its Unit Intro Quest from 8/26 to 9/8 PDT.
  • Takes added damage boost from Spirit Slayer resources.
  • Some of Ygni's skills deals self-inflicting damage and will not be penalized towards the Total Damage Received criteria in Dark Visions events.

Default Attack Changes

  • The passive ability Moogle and Monster permanently changes its default attack when its TMR, STMR, or VC is equipped. This will override the unit from using a standard normal attack.

Area Effect Mechanics

  • The area effects granted by Ygni's cooldown skill Vitality Fountain does not stack when a duplicate unit uses the same ability.
    • This ability will only affect allied party members. When an enemy Ygni uses this skill in Arena, the enemy party will grant its corresponding effects.
  • Area effects do not stack. Using a different skill, skills with a similar effect or evoking an Esper with the appropriate unit will overwrite the previous area effect.

Morale Ability Mechanics

  • Ygni gains access to specific normal, cooldown and/or Magnus Abilities that can deal more damage, boost morale gauge or provide special effects when certain requirements are met. These skills are only available during Clash of Wills events and cannot be used on any other game modes.
