A young black mage from the distant world of Gaia. While attending a play in the kingdom of Alexandria, he is swept up in Zidane's plot to kidnap Princess Garnet, and before long joins in on his new companions' quest. Raised with no knowledge of the world or his own origins, he is at first timid and dependent on others, but in the course of his journey gradually gains the courage to face the truth of the past.

- Vivi has several variants: Black Mage Vivi and Pure-Hearted Vivi.
Trivia
- Despite that he is of a "Human" species, Vivi is actually a Black Mage, which is considered a race of beings in Final Fantasy IX rather than a job itself.
- Vivi's magic casting stance and victory pose alludes to what he actually does in his game of origin.
- Vivi is featured wielding weapons that he had actual access to in Final Fantasy IX. He is armed with the Mage Staff and Oak Staff in his 3★ and 4★ forms respectively.
