I'd like to make a minor modification to the map image. Is this feasible? In particular, I would like to add a marker for where the map appears to be split in terms of encounters. What I mean by this is that there are 14 encounters that are only located in the first part of the map, and then 12 encounters (+ boss battle) in the second half of the map. The split appears to be the first 'ramp' in the second above ground area. I will also add a section describing the encounter split (which encounters occur in the beginning areas, and which in the end areas). Cerbius (talk) 14:03, 18 July 2016 (EDT)

The problem is on how to mark these without making the map more convoluted, they are already intricate enough and it's not getting any better. I think we can add notes on the "possible monsters" section instead separating them into regions. --Cysidus (talk) 08:40, 19 July 2016 (EDT)

These are the encounters, by area. Thoughts on how to integrate this data into the existing chart?

Well, something weird just happened. I had a run where the first area gave me 2004 Gil before running out of encounters (+27 vs. previous runs). The second zone gave exactly the expected results, so I ended the Exploration at 3593 Gil (still +27 vs. expected). In the Final Results screen, however, I ended at 3659 Gil (net of +15, meaning the completion bonus Gil was reduced) and 31430 Exp (net +42). Unfortunately, I was not tracking individual encounters on this run, so I don't know how the differences arose. Cerbius (talk) 09:07, 22 July 2016 (EDT)

Some people on Reddit are reporting similar experiences across the different Exploration maps as well. Idk man. I have two theories:

1. There are rare bonus encounters.
2. There are generally more than 26+boss encounters, but as you get closer to the cap, the number of steps needed to have another encounter exponentially increases, like an asymptote. --Dyzpa (talk) 13:46, 22 July 2016 (EDT)

Something else is going on. The difference was less than a single unit's worth of Gil/Exp, so the mix had to have been different. I'm going to continue doing runs, tracking every enemy in every encounter until I replicate this (or find some other value change). Cerbius (talk) 13:57, 22 July 2016 (EDT)
