Just a handy little tip here when trying to finish the "elemental chain goals". If you have two dudes set up with elemental weapons, for example, you might find that when you hit auto they are hitting different targets, rather than hitting the same target to get the elemental chains you need. What you need to do is simply tap on one of the targets, so that there is an arrow above it. That way, all your attacks will hit that target, and get your ST elementals happening, rather than hit all around multiple enemies on account of your team being far too kick-arse for its own good.
Additional tip: I've found using Barbs + Lexa doing tornado chains, interupted by Lightning + Lightning friend, has worked well to get "activate elemental chains 3 times or more in one turn" happening. In the past I've just used 2B & friends using Excal & all sorts of whacky chains ;)
The really tricky bit if you don't have other elemental chain options, is to somehow get Barbs to do double tornado, and Lexa do DC Aeroja... that seems to work for multi elemental chain options....

For example I used: Lila (Fire Hand-to-Hand)x2 CG Fina (with Frozen Hurricane / Thunder / Aero / Bio) Lila (Fire Hand-to-Hand)x2 Raegen (Ice Katana) CG Nichol (for Water DMG / MP Battery)
Doing ALL Part 1 yields 2,800 Lapis (Took me from 2,000 to 4,800 Lapis once claimed all rewards at end of finishing all part 1)

I wanted to clarify on something Shakers said below.
If there is a mission that says "activate elemental chains 3 times or more in one turn" it simply means that a single chaining attempt must reach at least 3 hits. It does NOT mean that you must create 3 successful and separate chain attemps in a single turn, which is why "Lightning + Lightning friend" was mentioned.
To successfully complete this, you can either use elemental weapons (such as Lightbringer) with a paired multi-hit attack, element-imbued weapons followed by a paired multi-hit attack (such as 2 Sephiroths using Reunion followed by The Heavens Wept), or by paired multi-hit spells (2 tornado casters). A single Dual-cast Tornado will NOT work. My preference is using two tornado casters, as it has a high hit count and is moderately forgiving on timing since I tap on my phone.
So long as your attempt says "Elemental Chain" in colorful lettering, with a number 3 or higher, you've completed the task.
