A red-feathered bird that, true to its name, prefers to get around by running on its strong legs. Having no natural enemies from whom they would have to fly to escape in their original habitat, they lost the ability to fly though the ages, coming to possess great land speed instead. By the time humans came across them they were completely flightless, instead using their blistering running speed to escape their predator, and earning their name.
