A huge carnivorous centipede. It used to prey on small creatures only, but living near execution grounds, it grew to acquire a taste for human corpses--eventually leading it to prey even on the living. It first pierces its prey's heavy armor with its strong jaws, then injects poison into the flesh beneath. A burning pain rages through the victim, leaving him or her unable to move and unable to escape. The only small mercy is that the victim will most likely have lost consciousness by the time the beast begins to feed.
