A young man from a distant world where changing the future is possible by traveling through time. The last of humanity from a crumbling and withering world, Noel prays for a miracle on the verge of death, and is transported through time and space to the unseen realm of Valhalla. There he meets Lightning, a warrior in service of the goddess Etro, who tasks him with finding her younger sister, Serah. He then travels 700 years into the past in order to change the future alongside her.
