A boy who appears in the tales of a world where the gods toy with humanity's fate. Hope lived an ordinary life with his loving parents in Cocoon, the floating continent ruled by servants of the gods; beings known as the fal'Cie. Apart from the rebellious attitude toward his father expected of a sensitive adolescent, his life was free of trouble. However, all that changed when he and his mother went on a trip to the seaside town of Bodhum and encountered the turmoil caused by the appearance of a creature from "Pulse." From that moment on, Hope's life would never return to normalcy.
