• Edgar has several variants: King Edgar of Figaro and Embracer of Duty Edgar.
• In the Japanese version, King Edgar of Figaro received his Ability Awakenings prior to the release of the Neo Vision era. This was not made available in the Global version prior to the release of the era, thus all his fully awakened abilities and latent abilities were integrated with his awakening in the Global version.

Trivia

• Edgar and Sabin's shared STMR, Coin of Fate is a unique coin with both of their heads displayed on each side. It is considered as their prized treasure. It is used when the twins determine their fate by a toss of a coin in which Edgar became the new King of Figaro. It is later used by Celes in order to convince Setzer to join their cause against the Gestahlian empire.
• Gerad is the alias that he used in the World of Ruin when he allies himself with the Crimson Robbers in order to salvage and restore the submerged Figaro Castle. It is an anagram of his name.
• Edgar's Brave Shift form sticks true to his actual equipment affinity of Spears, in which is his primary weapon of choice and is associated with his Ultimate Weapon in the modern ports of Final Fantasy VI, the Longinus spear.
