Tips[]

  • See testimonials and discussions.
  • The counters in Phase 1 are best handled by avoiding doing elemental damage between burst turns. If Phase 2 can be reached by the 3rd burst, this also avoids dealing with a non-provokable berserk from the Lv. 3 traps.
  • During phase 2, the boss responds to physical attacks by buffing its DEF, and vice-versa for magic. As such, it's advised to use the opposite attack type to hit the boss between burst turns to avoid or delay the Lv. 3 trap with unremovable buffs. Not attacking is not an option, since the boss would then use a non-provokable berserk.
  • Additionally, if the boss cannot be defeated before his 5th turn in Phase 2, it might be best to leave one character vulnerable to petrification, as the boss will not use its 2 casts of non-provokable berserk if at least one party member is petrified.
  • Since the provokable berserk from the normal boss rotation cannot be avoided regardless, it might be best to use a provoker whose upgraded normal attack does not deal damage to avoid triggering counters during either phase.
    • Ihana is ideal for this, as her normal attack recovers MP and casts 2 stacks of mirage for the party, which is useful to deal with the boss's physical attacks with high accuracy. Additionally, Ihana has access to both human and, at EX3, beast killers.
