The L'Cie of the Black Tortoise Crystal and former king of Lorica who suddenly appeared at Big Bridge in the faraway world of Orience. He dons the legendary Black Tortoise Armor, and uses a giant sword in battle. Only those chosen by the Crystals who are granted power and a mission can call themselves a L'Cie. After the destruction of Lorica, Gilgamesh loses his sanity and his sense of mission as a L'Cie, and began challenging all those he meets.
