Unit numbers on unit listings?

Would anyone be ok with unit numbers being added to the Unit List page? It would be convenient for me for purposes of seeing what I don't have. I wouldn't mind doing it myself, but not 100% clear as to how much I have permission to do on this wiki prior to approval.--Azul120 (talk) 15:57, 7 January 2017 (EST)

We used to have it, but then with all units skipped and the table being big enough already it kind of was too much trouble and we removed it. I don't know, maybe? I will leave this on hold for now but will take a better look at it when I can. --Umuzu (talk) 23:05, 11 January 2017 (EST)

Unmitigated Damage

I feel like it would be a huge improvement to show the effective multiplier instead of (or in addition to) the base multiplier + unmitigated damage, because...

  • It's confusing to new users
  • The mental math is not always straightforward (25% ignored, uh 4/3 times 2.6, etc)
  • Unmitigated damage is not real. It's mechanically and mathematically equivalent to an "Effective Multiplier" in every way.
  • Consistent with combo ability (like Barrage, Madness Rush, etc)
  • That's how I saw it on a JP site and so it must be right. ;-)

BTW, I'm pretty new here, and really impressed with the wiki. I found it easy to use overall and new content gets added quickly. --Hossman (talk) 12:37, 10 January 2017 (EST)

We can have effective multipliers in the actual skill pages, in the skill description might be tough considering they are already too big and unit pages I don't know where we would put it. Once I am done with the current batch of unreleased units I will add them to skill pages at least, in regards to doing more I don't know. About the math, you can look here --Umuzu (talk) 23:05, 11 January 2017 (EST)
Yeah I guess maybe an example would be helpful. Delita has Northswain Strike which reads: Physical damage (1.6x) with ignore DEF (40%) to one enemy. In my opinion it should just say" Physical damage (2.67x) to one enemy. It really doesn't matter if it has ignore defense or not. What we all want to know is "What is the effective multiplier?", in my opinion anyway. Maybe the 1.6 and ignore def 40% go in the skill page but it's basically just trivia unless the game invents a buff that adds +20% ignore def or something. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how it seems to me.--Hossman (talk) 21:50, 14 January 2017 (EST)
They work differently mechanically in that skills with unmitigated damage can't be stopped by cover effects and ignore reflect. We can maybe think about rewording the description to not have the % unmitigated and have only the total multiplier (maybe something like: "Holy physical damage partially unaffected by DEF (4x) to one enemy"). But going so far as removing the ignore DEF portion I don't think it would be ideal --Umuzu (talk) 00:37, 15 January 2017 (EST)
I was not aware of that detail. So there is relevance to at least say it is "partial unmitigated damage" or something. I'm going to add the info you shared to the mechanics page. I actually had to learn the "hard way" that meteor doesn't reflect, but I did not really know why until now. --Hossman (talk) 15:44, 16 January 2017 (EST)

Link to Zone on location Page

I just made this edit to the Duggle Village. Basically it links to Groana instead of just listing the name.

I'm not sure if there was a reason behind not linking, but I wanted to throw this up for discussion before going and doing it for everything.

When it comes to making a small edit like this, don't worry so much about telling people, it'll show up in Special:RecentChanges and someone will see it eventually. If the edit is one that doesn't help the wiki at all, it would be removed. However I don't see a problem with creating a link to a zone when a player might want to find out where "Groana" is, so the edit stands, and you get a pat on the back for making the wiki a little better. every edit counts :^)

Be wary that if you do that then places such as Zoldaad will not be a direct link and will instead have to be written as Zoldaad. Personally, I don't think such linking is necessary, but that's just me. --FencerTJ (talk) 04:49, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Adding units to GLEX category

Hello. Ellesperis and Beryl are GLEX units, but their infoboxes were not reflecting this (Exclusive = No). I edited the infoboxes to correct this (Exclusive = Global), but this list: [1] has to be updated as well. Thing is, I don't know how. Edit Source doesn't seem to be the proper way for updating this list. Anyone knows how? --SilentResident (talk) 03:59, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
