These monsters possess a crystal inside them which emits a strange glow—this is, in fact, their true form. The orbs obtained by those who complete such trials are known to grant special visions and tremendous power, with some theorizing that the crystals themselves assume the form of a monster in order to test whether challengers are worthy of receiving these boons.
