A ferocious, meat-eating ancient fish. Though it lives at the bottom of deep lakes, it is said to be able to live for over a year in places without water. They are known for their delectable meat, but removing their tough scales are difficult, and many injure themselves in the process of preparing the fish. They are sold in fillets, but often demand high prices, which have led the unscrupulous to sell different fish fillets as dinictus meat.
